Ready to Roll

Able Grable has released three new frocks --the Ready Hedy the Miss Iris Henderson and the Miss Lola Burns!

The Ready Hedy is a clever little wrap dress--I'm wearing the sunny yellow eyelet version--that proves glamour can be perfectly practical!

The Miss Iris Henderson is a fabulous stunner in red, gray and gold plaid satin--just the very frock for all you starlets out there!

The Miss Lola Burns is the dress to choose when you want to stand out in a crowd--its snappy black and white polka dots and unique "capelet" sleeves are simply divine!

You can't go wrong with an Able Grable design--there's something to suit every occasion and fashion mood--and these three creations are not to be missed!

Thought you might enjoy this clip of my Sweetie and me performing "Jackson" at the Glendale Glitter and Glow event last month! This was my first time performing the song in front of a live audience ;-)

Coming Attractions

I am excited to report that I will be modeling in the Viva Las Vegas fashion show this year, for the fabulous designer Dottie's Delights. This is actually the first year I will be attending VLV, and it will be an honor to hit the catwalk there, especially wearing the exquisite Dottie's designs!

Hope to see you there!

Fairytale

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to shoot with the talented photographer DB Miller. We did a series of colorful fairytale princess-themed photos, which he enhanced with artwork created by a couple of his equally talented friends. I love how these turned out, and it sure was fun to try something new! I hope you like these as much as I do!

One Sunny Afternoon

I received the first sets of photos from the two photo shoots I had last weekend, and wanted to share them with you--I hope you like them as much as I do! The rest of the photos can be seen on my Web site--do let me know what you think :-)

The first series is by Matt Carson--I'm wearing another Trashy Diva dress in red and black eyelet. The second series is by Atomic Age Pictures, and I'm wearing a cute little rockabilly dress from Matilda's Closet.

Technicolor Tokyo Girl

I just received several photos from the Tokyo Girls fashion show taken by official photographer Mark Zemnick. I'm quite thrilled with how they turned out, and I hope you like them too!

A Little Window Shopping Torture

Trashy Diva has some amazing new designs out, which means my wish list just got a little longer! I mean, look at these fabulous forties frocks--in colors like Persian Pink and Dragonfly, and with details like sequined bows and birds and gold nailheads, who wouldn't want each and every one hanging in their closet? I think my favorite is the bow-trimmed persian pink frock, though the aptly-named, gold-studded Joan dress is a very close second. Actually, I really can't decide on just one!

Trashy Diva also has a number of droolworthy rayon designs, and the prints and fabric are really quite lovely--and more affordable than their silk collections! I have the Sweetie style in the cheerful cherry print, and have been eying the polka dot and yellow bow versions as well, though the state of my closet (and the state my wallet would be in after such a splurge) keeps me from pulling the trigger and ordering one of everything ;-)

Tokyo Girls and a Military Show, Oh My!

This past weekend was quite busy for me—it was packed with two shows and two photo shoots!

On Friday I appeared in a TCCE Land of the Rising Sun Tokyo Girls fashion show, performing as a 1940s glamour girl along with six other models who represented other facets of Japanese fashion culture. The show was a brief teaser and networking event for an upcoming, full-length show in February, and we all had a lot of fun giving the audience a taste of fabulous fashion!

I wore one of my favorite WWII-era dresses, a cream and black rayon crepe cocktail gown studded in rhinestones and featuring a fabulous surplice bodice and figure-hugging skirt (found at Matilda’s Closet, of course). I wore it with a cream belt (borrowed from another 40s evening gown), nude fully-fashioned stockings (Magnolia Hosiery), black gloves, a black jersey tilt hat, and my favorite black velvet baby doll pumps. Rhinestone jewelry completed this look. (All photos copyright Zemnick Photography.)

The next day, I attended a military vehicle show and assisted fellow pin-up Brenda Lee during the military surplus auction. This turned out to be quite a bit of fun, and I think it is safe to say that the two assistants really helped in upping the bids *wink*

I wore the cheesecake Marine uniform V Vintage created for me, along with my favorite 1940s navy blue platforms. (All photos copyright Jensen Perspective Photgraphy.)

On Sunday, I had a fun shoot with Matt Carson, and on Monday I had a Valentine’s Day shoot with Atomic Age Pictures—stay tuned for photos from both!
